“Connecting People Each Day to the Real Jesus by Infusing Truth in Students.”
At The MET Student Ministry we desire to make a connection with every High School student who visits. We recognize that High School students are in a hectic time of life where not only schedules over-committed but they are being pulled in ten different directions morally everyday. We hope that these students will find a place to CONNECT through fun events like sand volleyball or Caffeine Fix (talent show of sorts). We love doing events that speak to the hearts of every kind of high school student. Some events to look forward to in High School are as follows:
Truth Weekend February 2009
Sports & Sex Lock-In (for Guys Only) March 2009
Girl’s Ministry Event TBA April 2009
High School Camp June-July 2009
King of the Beach August 2009
After coming to an event or two High School Students are welcome to join our “front door ministry opportunity” called Refuge in Wednesday nights (6:30-7:45pm). Refuge is a time of WORSHIP and BELONGING for any student who wishes to come and be a part. We have a student led worship band, coupled with games and skits, and then we always have a message that lifts up the scriptures. Wednesday nights are high intensity for everyone to brighten their week and help everyone refocus on the Truth of God and His Word.
From there we aim to get students plugged into a place where they can BELONG like our High School Life Groups on Sunday mornings. Our emphasis in High School Life Groups is for our students to really understand discipleship and leadership. We want students when they graduate High School to be able to lead others in Bible study, share their faith, and be confident in their place as an adult in the church so that they will be able to SERVE for years to come. High School Life Groups meet at 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00am.
At Life Groups students will find pastors and adult Titus Leaders who will pour into them each week through hang time, a brief opener, then a Bible study that is discussion oriented (30-40 minutes). All of this will be done at a table of 10-15 students of the same sex and grade. These adults want to help give direction to these students and many of have times outside of Sunday Life Groups where they get everyone together to have some fun together (Pool parties, Astro’s game, bowling, etc.) These adults and pastors who show up every Sunday are committed to bringing fun and Truth to the ministry for all High School students.
